The Challenge
Universal Handling Equipment Co., a manufacturer of steel containers for the waste, scrap steel, and recycling industries, faced a familiar dilemma: their aging shear was slowing production and holding back their team. Every piece of material for their dumpsters, shipping containers, and other products runs through the shear, making it the heartbeat of their operation.
"We decided it was time to buy a new shear, as the shear we were using was quite old and out of date," said Craig McCorkle of Universal Handling.

The Results
Since the upgrade, Universal Handling has seen measurable improvements:
- Increased production — The new shear supports daily operations with greater speed and reliability.
- Happier operators — "Our production has risen and our employees seem to better enjoy a new machine that makes their job easier," Craig noted.
- Rapid issue resolution — "We have had a few minor issues with the new machine, but each and every one was met with a service tech to correct the issue and do so right away."
“We serve clients with zero tolerance for error,” said Steve Morgan, Engineering Manager at CCC. “HACO’s technology gives us the precision and repeatability we need. The control software—Cypcut for lasers and HacoBend Pro for press brakes—is extremely intuitive. Our operators were up to speed in just two days, which is a huge advantage in a fast-paced environment.”

"We gebruiken HACO-machines vanaf dag één," legde Milt uit. Na de aanschaf van een andere HACO-machine keerden ze opnieuw naar HACO toen ze op zoek waren naar geavanceerde apparatuur.
