Stepping away from in-house refurbishments in France

10 April 2026

HACO Group has taken a strategic decision to discontinue its in-house refurbishment activity in France. This means that HACO will no longer purchase pre-owned press brakes and shears, refurbish them in its workshop, and bring them back to market as refurbished machines. At the same time, retrofit projects on machines already owned by customers remain fully supported.

Your machines can still be upgraded

For metalworking companies, the difference lies in ownership and approach. Refurbishment involved HACO purchasing older machines, rebuilding them in-house, and offering them again as refurbished equipment. That activity will now be discontinued.

In-field retrofits, however, remain unchanged. Companies can still rely on HACO to modernize their own press brakes and shears directly in their production environment. This may include new controls, updated electrical cabinets, hydraulic improvements, or safety upgrades. These targeted interventions help extend machine lifetime and improve performance, without disrupting production or transferring ownership.

As Bart Huys, Global Sales Manager at HACO Group, explains, “Refurbishing pre-owned machines and upgrading customer-owned machines are two very different activities. While we are stepping away from refurbishments, retrofit projects remain an important way to help customers get more out of their existing HACO equipment. And obviously, we’ll further strengthen our focus on future-ready machine development and continued support for machines already in operation.”

A final opportunity for refurbished machines

As the refurbishment activity in France comes to an end, the remaining stock of refurbished HACO press brakes and shears is now available at attractive conditions. These machines can be viewed at HACO’s workshop in La Chapelle-d'Armentières, offering a limited-time opportunity for companies considering additional capacity or planning to replace aging equipment. Once the current stock is sold, refurbished machines from the French workshop will no longer be available.
