Machine concept

The Multi-Flex is a 5-axis machine equipped with a high speed motor, which can mill, drill, tap and saw tubes, profiles and extrusions in aluminium, steel, wood and composites.

The component is clamped on the machine bed and remains stationary whilst the gantry moves over the component.

The Multi-Flex can be equipped with vacuum tables or special clamping options.

Profil3D Programming software

Mubea has developed a 3D software “Profil3D” allowing easy programming in each face all of the machining requirements such as drill, mill, flow-drill, tap and saw.

An optional feature is the programming and the simulation of curved components.

A further option is a nesting module for processing different components out of one profile.

The software has its own design package including a 3D production simulation and collision control.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Clamping of the components

We offer a selection of either 6,8,10 or 12 clamps. The gantry automatically positions each clamp.

 

 

 

 

Tool magazine with tool change arm

The machine has a chain magazine for 18 tools with a tool change arm, in which the next following tool is prepared automatically .

 

 

 

Maximum dimensions of the component

The Multi-Flex takes components up to 7550 x 500 x 420 mm when working on 5 faces. When the underside is to be machined then the component dimensions are limited to 7550 x 500 x 290 mm.

Vertical faces can be machined up to 7550 x 1250 x 420 mm. Optionally, the machine can be equipped with a vacuum table.

 

 

 

Cutting head

The machine is equipped with a water-cooled motor. The motor produces 16 KW (S1), 19,6 KW (S6) and takes HSK F63 tool holders.

The motor is on both sides supported. The motor can tilt (A-axis) between -115° / 115° and it can rotate (C-axis) between -200° / 200°.

The standard speed of the spindle is 18.000 RPM. We can also offer a spindle feed of 22.000 RPM (S1

 

 

 

 

 

NC SIEMENS 840D control

We use the latest Siemens NC840D - NCU 571.3 with Celeron 1.2Ghz processor, 512 MB Ram with 15' TFT colour screen.

De Profil3D software is available on the Siemens control with 3D simulation. The software informs the operator how to load the component.

We also offer a Siemens service contract with a validation of 1 up to 5 years .
